TESSELATING Trivets

Each trivet has 16 light (rubberwood) and 16 dark (monkeypod) triangles which fit neatly into the 20x20cm wooden frame.

Here the pieces are arranged in squares to make up quarter of a chessboard

And now the same pieces arranged as windmills, or is that diamonds…such a simple transformation.

Four possible trivet arrangements – or is that two?

And of course, you don’t need to be limited to abstract designs…try initials, spirals….

And between creating you can even rest your hot tea pot on it!
